2009 Marathon Championships
The Abingdon Marathon
Abingdon Amblers were once been kind enough once again to host our Marathon Championships at their excellent race on 18th October.
A report of the race, full RRC results and photographs of the runners and the prize presentations will appear in the Winter issue of Roadrunner, but the trophy-winners are listed here, and I will also post a page of photographs taken around the course and the finish, on a crisp autumn morning, ideal for marathon running. Three of our trophy winners, Myshola Kirkham (1st Lady and 1st Overall), Godfrey Rhimes (1st Man) and James Robson (1st M50) got home under the three-hour mark.
The race organisation got the results out very quickly and the presentations were done while a good many competitors and their supporters were still present, although runners were still coming in to the finish, and not all our category winners had yet come in. Dominic Croft made the awards, and he will post on plaques to those who were not able to collect them at the race.

The Sub-Ultra Championship
This has been awarded once again to the very consistent and always cheerful Hideo Takano of Dorking and Mole Valley AC, who completed all the three Sub-Ultra Championships this year. Sadly, no Lady member completed a qualifying series.
